APG LABS
Through APG Labs, we are now offering free COVID-19 testing at multiple locations throughout Maryland.
**Because of the enormous testing demand fueled by the delta and omicron surge, APG LABS and other testing providers and laboratories are experiencing longer than usual wait times to get results. Because of this, APG is recommending that anyone tested between Dec. 30, 2021, and Jan. 5, 2022, who has not yet received their results and is currently symptomatic to get re-tested at one of the many testing sites around the state to ensure they receive timely, valid results.
We apologize to the individuals whose results were delayed, and we are working with our vendors and community partners to address the surge in testing.

RESULTS IN 15 MINUTES
The Rapid Antigen test detects a protein coating the surface of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and is collected through a nasal swab. The swab is placed into a solution to identify the virus, and. results are produced in as little as fifteen minutes.
*While the antigen test is much quicker, it is not as accurate as a PCR test, especially in the early stages of Covid-19.
RESULTS IN 24-72 HOURS
The nose swab PCR test for COVID-19 is an accurate and reliable test for diagnosing COVID-19. Considered the gold standard, this test detects genetic material from the virus to determine if the virus is present at the time of the test. The test can also detect fragments of the virus even after you are no longer infected.
*PCR tests are highly accurate and do not often need to be repeated.
